Snowdonia Lakes day walk (1)
Time & Location
About the Event
Join us for this magical walk round beautiful Ice age lakes under the slopes of the Glyders. We start with Cwm Idwal famous for it's rock formations and crystal clear waters, followed by Llyn Ogwen with it's fantastic views of the mighty Tryfan and according to legend the resting place of King Arthur's sword, Excalibur.
The walk is an easy and flat 6 miles and perfect for any beginners or anyone not wishing to walk up hill. You will be led by qualified mountain guides so no need to worry about navigation.
The pace will be relaxed with plenty of stops and you will recieve plenty of support before and during the walk.
The walk is open to individuals and groups.
What do I need to bring?
You will need to wear sturdy walking boots/walking shoes as the path is rocky.
Prepare for all weathers on the mountain and bring spare layers and waterproof jacket and trousers.
A day pack (lined with a dry bag / plastic bag) with at least 2 litres of water and a packed lunch with plenty of snacks.
You will recieve a kit list once booked on.
Where do I meet?
We always start and finish the walk near places you can park. There is an official car park at Ogwen Cottage as well as a number of large laybys nearby.
We will meet in front of Ogwen Snack bar at 10:00 AM.
The price is £40 pp and this includes your guided walk led by qualified mountain guides (transport, accomodation and food are not included).
Want to extend the adventure? Join us for a walk up Snowdon the day before.
