Pen Y Fan day walk
Time & Location
About the Event
If you’re looking for an exhilarating hike and some spectacular views across the South Wales countryside, head to Pen y Fan.
At 886 metres Pen Y Fan stands as the tallest mountain in the Brecon Beacons and South Wales. Offering a green and rural landscape this walk captures some of the best views in the Brecons from grassy plateaus to sparking lakes.
Join us as we take the path from Storey Arms, considered the easiest route, and up to the top of Corn Du and Pen Y Fan for hopefully magical views.
You do not need any previous mountain experience but you do need to be able to walk a good few hours.
The walk will be a women's group only and will be led by qualified mountain guides so no need to worry about navigation. The pace will be relaxed with plenty of stops and you will recieve plenty of support before and during the walk.
The walk is open to individuals and groups.
What do I need to bring?
You will need to wear sturdy walking boots/walking shoes as the path is rocky.
Prepare for all weathers on the mountain and bring spare layers and waterproof jacket and trousers.
A day pack (lined with a dry bag / plastic bag) with at least 2 litres of water and a packed lunch with plenty of snacks.
You will recieve a kit list once booked on.
Where do I meet?
We always start and finish the walk near places you can park. There are a number of official car parks near Storey Arms. We will meet in front of Storey Arms outdoor Centre at 10:00 AM.
The price is £40 pp and this includes your guided walk up Pen Y Fan led by qualified mountain guides (transport, accomodation and food are not included).
Want to extend the adventure? Join us for a waterfall walk in the Brecon Beacons the following day.
